Mayor of Amman – Chairman of Amman Vision Investment & Development

Prior to assuming his Mayoral post in August 2017 Mayor Al-Shawarbeh was the Chairman of Amman Municipal Committee (March 2017 – August 2017), Chairman of Addustour newspaper Board of Directors (2016) and Minister of Political Development and Parliamentary Affairs (2016). Over 15 years, Mayor Al-Shawarbeh held various positions on local Government and Municipal work, legal and Legislative field: (2013 –2016) he was the Deputy Mayor of Amman, Vice Chairman of Investment committee at the Greater Amman Municipality, A member of the Local Organizing Committee of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2016, Chairman of Tenders committee at the Greater Amman Municipality , Vice Chairman of the Central Market Board of Directors at the Greater Amman Municipality, Deputy Chief of Directors, Al-Tawfiq for Transport & Investment Co. Ltd , Vice Chairman of Comprehensive Multiple Transport company Board of Directors, and Deputy Chief of Directors, Asia Transportation Company, Vice Chairman of Integrated Cards Company (-E kartak) Board of Directors. In (2014) Member of Decentralization Law Formulation committee, Member of Human Rights National plan Formulation committee and a Member of Amman Sister Cities High committee. Mayor Al-Shawarbeh holds a PhD degree in constitutional law from Al-Neelain University in Sudan. He also holds a Bachelor degree in Law – Al-Ahliyya Amman University- Faculty of Law in Jordan.

Chief Executive Officer

With over 18 years of experience in urban design & project management, Mustafa Abu Ghoush has been extensively involved in designing, leading, and supervising projects related to the city, urban planning, heritage conservation, urban regeneration, adaptive reuse, and public transportation.

As a Senior Urban Designer at Dar Al-Handasah Consultants (Shair & Partners), he developed and managed several strategic projects in Jordan, including the concept master plan for King Hussein Medical City (KHMC) and King Hussein Business Park Project (KHBP). Abu Goush was also responsible for managing strategic development projects in KSA, UAE, Oman, and Angola.

Since 2019, Abu Ghoush has been initially working with Amman Vision Investment & Development in the position of Chief Development Officer in the Development & Engineering Department. In this role, He was responsible for preparing initial concepts, design controls, schedules, and quality assurance for the investment opportunities of AVID.

In late 2023, Abu Ghoush was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of AVID. In this current role, he continues to oversee the company’s strategic direction and operations, focusing on promoting a sustainable and dynamic investment environment in Amman.

He holds a B.Sc. in Architectural Engineering from the Jordan University of Science and Technology and a Master’s Degree in Architectural Engineering from the University of Jordan.

Mu’ath  Al-Habahbeh

Chief investment and marketing

As the Chief Investment Officer at AVID, Al Habahbeh leads the strategic direction and execution of the organization’s investment initiatives. In this role, he drives the evaluation and implementation of the projects, ensuring alignment with AVID’s long-term goals and the economic growth of the region.

Al Habahbeh is an experienced professional with 17 years of vast expertise in the investment field. He specializes in the appraisal and assessment of development and strategic initiatives. His career has been distinguished by a number of notable roles that highlight his proficiency in senior operations and finance management.

Within the Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC), Al Habahbeh has occupied a number of important positions. The most recent one was Head of the Airport and Railways Projects Unit. In this role, he played a key role in the inception, assessment, and approval of business plans and feasibility studies, as well as the thorough examination of the operational and financial details of several projects.

Al Habahbeh was essential to a number of high-profile projects during his time at ADC. He contributed strategic thoughts and oversight to the new National Railway Project plan. He also oversaw the international tender process in order to guarantee that the relocation of the Main Port project in Aqaba was in line with strategic development objectives, he also actively participated in the Aqaba Exhibition Center project, the Aqaba Port Community System project, and the comprehensive master plan for King Hussein International Airport.

Al Habahbeh holds a BA in Industrial Engineering / Management from the Jordan University of Science and Technology, Faculty of Engineering.
